About ELSCM

ELSCM is an independent music charity founded in 2015, based in East London, making classical music accessible to every age and background. These terms cover elscm.co.uk, our events, tuition and other activities.

Acceptance of terms

By using the site, buying tickets, donating or enrolling, you confirm you have read and understood these terms, that you are 18 or over or have a parent or guardian's consent, and that you agree to be bound by them. Please read them alongside our privacy policy.

Use of our website

Use the site lawfully. Do not use it to send spam, gain unauthorised access, spread malware, copy content without written permission, or misrepresent your identity. We may suspend access if these terms are broken.

Events & ticketing

• Tickets are sold through Eventbrite, whose terms also apply.
• Entry requires a valid ticket where one is issued.
• Age restrictions are shown on the event listing.
• Latecomers are admitted at the venue's discretion.
• Disruptive behaviour may lead to removal without refund.
• Photography and recording are not permitted during performances unless stated.
• Changes to programme, performers or venue may happen; cancelled events are refunded.

Tuition & enrolment

• Enrolment is confirmed when we receive a completed form and any payment due.
• Timetables depend on tutor and room availability; we give reasonable notice of changes.
• Missed lessons with less than 24 hours' notice are not rescheduled or refunded. Lessons we cancel are rescheduled.
• Conduct: tuition may be withdrawn for unacceptable behaviour.
• Safeguarding: all tutors are DBS checked, and concerns go to our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Under-18s need a parent or guardian's consent and an emergency contact at enrolment.

Payments & refunds

Fees are in pounds sterling and include any applicable taxes. Tuition fees are due termly or monthly as agreed; non-payment may pause lessons. Event tickets are non-refundable unless we cancel. To stop tuition, give 4 weeks' written notice; fees for the notice period remain payable. Raise payment disputes in writing within 14 days. See payments, refunds and returns.

Donations

ELSCM is not currently recognised by HMRC for Gift Aid, so we cannot claim Gift Aid on donations at present. Donations fund concerts, education, bursaries and community outreach. We refund donations only for documented errors, such as a duplicate or wrong amount, reported in writing within 14 days. Ask us if you would like your gift to be anonymous.

Intellectual property

Site content, including text, photographs, audio, video, logos and programme notes, belongs to ELSCM or its licensors. You may view and print it for personal use and share links. You may not reproduce, distribute or use it commercially, or use our name or logo, without written permission.

Limitation of liability

We do not guarantee that the site is accurate, available or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for losses arising from its use, from event changes, or for personal property at our events. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be excluded.

Third-party services

We use Eventbrite, Facebook, YouTube and payment processors. We are not responsible for their sites; please read their terms.

Changes & governing law

We may change these terms at any time, effective on publication, and will email newsletter subscribers about significant changes. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
