Flute, Saxophone & Recorder Tutor
José Manuel Gil Muñoz
José was born in Madrid into a family of musicians: his grandfather conducted the town band in Nador and his father was a professional saxophonist. He learned theory and saxophone from the age of ten and moved to the flute at 23, which remains his main instrument.
From 1993 to 2010 he was first flute and piccolo in the Municipal Band of Vallecas, Madrid. After moving to London he joined the Hampstead Adventist Millennium Orchestra under Fiona Pacquette in 2011, and since 2012 has also played with the Stanborough Park Church orchestra and worked with the music department at Stanborough Park Secondary School.
He joined ELSCM in June 2015, two months after it opened, and has taught flute and saxophone here ever since.
